The mental health field has been a passion of mine since high school as I worked and volunteered in various mental health facilities, such as hospitals, kids rehab center and different clinics. Furthermore, from my past roles as a Special Needs Teacher, Crisis Line Responder and Mental Health Counsellor, my interest in the field of counselling grew when I noticed a lack of awareness in the South Asian communities and the importance given to an individual’s mental health, as well as the ways it could impact their quality of life.
