I have been working in the field for over 25 years. I have a degree in Adlerian psychotherapy. Clarity is my hope for each person I meet with. Whether your struggle is with depression, anxiety, disordered eating, a relationship, or past or present trauma – clarity means a better awareness and understanding of yourself.Knowing yourself allows you to make choices best for you, consciously. It can be challenging to unravel all of the often-conflicting messages we hear and tell ourselves. But it is crucial for living an authentic, whole, and joyful life. I offer a safe, judgment-free space to be listened to and heard. I believe that feeling “seen” unlocks inner wisdom and resilience. I am trained in EMDR, Narrative Therapy, CBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and attachment-based interventions. I have also completed my Somatic Experiencing training. SE is a somatic trauma treatment that involves techniques to release trauma from the body, closely partnered with and complementary to Polyvagal Theory.
Specialties: Trauma, Anxiety & Depression, Life Transitions, Couples Counselling.

I am a compassionate psychoanalyst with more than fifteen years of clinical experience supporting patients of diverse gender, age and ethnic backgrounds. I integrate a myriad of current techniques and approaches with varied technologies that best suit the clients’ needs. My main areas of focus are couples, adult and teenage sexuality, anxiety and depression, addiction and trauma, particularly parent-child separation trauma. Together with the patient, we build a Time and a Space to RECALL the untold past, to REFLECT in a coherent way on our emotions and bodily experiences, and RECONCILE with our desires and fantasies, no matter how devastating these may appear to be. The mental health field has been a passion of mine since high school as I worked and volunteered in various mental health facilities, such as hospitals, kids rehab center and different clinics. Furthermore, from my past roles as a Special Needs Teacher, Crisis Line Responder and Mental Health Counsellor, my interest in the field of counselling grew when I noticed a lack of awareness in the South Asian communities and the importance given to an individual’s mental health, as well as the ways it could impact their quality of life. Therefore, one of my goals is to remove the stigma attached to mental health care and help individuals reach their highest potential. Choosing to start therapy can feel intimidating and overwhelming, however, my aim is to make this process as comfortable as possible. Through my work, my desire is to build a strong collaborative relationship with my clients and provide them with a safe, respectful and non-judgmental environment in which stories and life experiences can be discussed. I highly value a client-centered approach; therefore, we will construct a treatment plan which is unique to every individual’s needs, goals and strengths. We will collaboratively work together at examining the underlying causes for the problems you may be experiencing and subsequently discuss steps on how to tackle them. In addition, my aim will be to help you recognize your strengths and assist you to focus on self-care to gain self-confidence in facing life challenges. If you sense that you are prepared to commence on a journey towards prosperity and better mental health, then I aspire to connect with you towards this constructive change.

I view counselling as a life-on-life journey where we work together to discover what health, healing, and wholeness can look like for you. During our sessions my goal is to create a safe space for you to feel comfortable to share and work through your struggles and challenges. You are not alone, and you need not feel alone. My hope is that you will feel empowered, encouraged, and even emboldened though our journey together.Throughout my life I have had many opportunities, professionally, personally, and as a volunteer, to walk with people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. These include homeless and impoverished people, those who are or who have been incarcerated, marriage preparation, relationship breakdowns, separation, divorce, mental health issues, addiction recovery, issues related to human sexuality, violent and traumatic events, PTSD, and suicide. These experiences have given me a passion for helping people find hope as they move toward health, healing, and wholeness. I use a multimodal approach to treatment which includes, CBT, CPT, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, the Gottman Method, and more.Thomas Jefferson said, “if you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.” So, what is it you want?
